Adversity to Advantage
Abstract
Flint has large amounts of vacant, residential land. Where this vacant land is most concentrated, opportunities for new uses exist, including urban agriculture, waste management, natural features enhancement, and community gardens and pocket parks. Each possible new use has various location requirements. The most suitable sites for new uses that need at least one-half acre of land may require demolition of derelict structures and some property assembly.
