Spring Break Externship Program

Taubman College's Spring Break Connections externship program allows students to gain experience in a work environment while developing marketable real-world skills.

Due to academic schedule changes for 2020-2021there will not be an Externship program this year.

Alternate programming is being developed for the week of January 11-15, 2021.

Please email taubmancollegecareer@umich.edu if you are an employer interested in being part of this new programming!

Gaining hands-on experience in the student's specific field gives them a deeper understanding of their intended profession. Each year we coordinate a one-week unpaid externship during "spring" break for students interested in learning more about their intended profession. Students are hosted by companies and organizations across the country.

About the Program

This program is held during the week of University of Michigan's "spring" (winter semester) break. The student is responsible for all travel and living arrangements and expenses. Host organizations are asked to engage the student in a variety of observational and/or hands-on activities to further their understanding of the practice of architecture or urban planning. The program is open to currently enrolled Taubman College students who meet a grade point standard.

Host Organizations

We would like to thank the firms and organizations who took time from their busy schedules to host a student.
