U-M Ranked No. 1 on Money Magazine’s List of Best Colleges in America

Money magazine ranked the University of Michigan as number one on its list of the 25 best colleges in America. The selection cites the university’s “world-class reputation that draws students from all over, the highest spending on research among public universities, and one of the country’s most vibrant college towns” as determining factors.

U-M is only the second public university to top the list. This ranking acknowledges the university’s quality, affordability, strong financial aid packages, high graduation rates, and the above-average wages U-M alumni earn.

Amy Dittmar, senior vice provost for academic and budgetary affairs at U-M, is quoted discussing the vibrant experience U-M students receive both in and out of the classroom. She cites the many campus resources available, including residential learning communities, Resource Navigators that help students find student organizations and other engagement opportunities, and the Gateway, a resource for first-generation college students.

As part of the University of Michigan, Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning provides numerous additional resources to enhance students’ experience, including an impressive array of student groups and activities. Programs and resources for student and alumni career growth and management, including career fairs, externships, and more, connect students and alumni to rewarding career opportunities.

As Dittmar said, “Once you’re here, the opportunities are almost endless.”
