Master of Urban Planning Class of 2014 establishes Class Gift

The Master of Urban Planning (MUP) Class of 2014 has established a class gift called the Urban Planning Professional Development Fund. The fund aims to provide financial support to students pursuing unpaid or low-paying summer opportunities with non-profits and organizations that are unable to provide funding.

This inaugural year, the fund will provide two students with awards up to $500 to partially alleviate the financial burden often encountered pursuing important professional opportunities and the committee hopes to increase the number of funded students in future years.

Katie Wholey (MUP’14), the 2014 Class Gift Committee Chair said, “Urban Planning students want to get out in our communities and make a difference,” when asked about the gift. “Our goal is to help future students further their professional goals while fostering community engagement.”

Visit the Urban Planning program’s class gift web page to apply to the Urban Planning Professional Development Fund. The application deadline is Wednesday, April 30, 2014.

The 2014 Class Gift Committee will be holding its final fundraiser on Sunday, April 27th at Buffalo Wild Wings. Present this flyer to your waiter and 20% of all proceeds will be donated to the Urban Planning Professional Development Fund.
