Arquero de Alarcon Hosts Panel Discussion at Detroit City of Design Summit

Maria Arquero de Alarcon, Director of the Masters of Urban Design Program and Associate Professor, moderated a panel discussion at the UNESCO City of Design Summit a the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. The panel, titled “Preserving and Uplifting Local Culture,” asked several guests, including Taubman College’s Anya Sirota, about their current projects.

The event, which ran from September 8 to September 14, gathered designers, planners, policy makers, business leaders and other professionals to discuss equitable and sustainable growth in Detroit. Currently, Detroit is the only UNESCO City of Design in the United States.
