Dewar and Nassauer Publish Brief on their Research with Water Center

Professor Dewar of Taubman College and Professor Nassauer, of the School for Environment and Sustainability, have published a brief on their research with the UM Water Center. The brief, “New GI: Neighborhood, Environment & Water Research Collaborations for Green Infrastructure” reports on “NEW-GI’s goals and early outcomes, results from [their] initial neighborhood survey and governance analysis, and ongoing research.” Co-researchers are Shawn McElmurry, Natalie Sampson, Alicia Alvarez, Allen Burton, Catherine Riseng, Amy Schulz, Noah Webster, and Nathaniel Lichten,

Dewar and Nassauer’s brief was published in April 2016. From the introduction:

NEW-GI (Neighborhood, Environment, and Water research collaborations for Green Infrastructure) is a transdisciplinary research project that integrates water quality, community well-being, governance, and design research in legacy cities. Through community, government, and academic collaboration, it produces evidence-based guidance for sustainably managing stormwater in ways that enhance Detroit landscapes and the lives of its residents.
