Taubman College More than 250 Taubman College Students Design a Different Spring Break
What is a day in the life of an architect or urban planner like? Hundreds of students at Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning have the opportunity to spend their spring break finding out. This year, more than 250 architecture undergraduate, graduate and urban planning graduate students will spend a week taking advantage of the special volunteer externship called Spring Break Connections.
The externship experience allows students the opportunity to combine their academic studies with real-world experiences. Students are exposed to a variety of activities including utilization of the newest technologies to design space, creating plans to support projects, attending meetings with clients and visiting buildings/sites under construction or design.
Externship students will be hosted by more than 240 architecture and urban planning organizations in over 30 cities in three countries, including the U.S. Many former Michigan students who participated in the program now serve as hosts to current students. The experience illustrates the world of possibilities that await Taubman College students after graduation.
