Taubman College Professor Charles to Deliver Lecture in Vancouver, Canada
Suzanne Lanyi Charles, Assistant Professor of Urban and Regional Planning, will deliver a lecture titled “Gentrification and the Suburbs” at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada on March 19, 2013.
The lecture is part of the Gentrification and the City speaker series organized by the department of Urban Studies at Simon Fraser University. Gentrification is typically associated with change in inner-city housing markets. The goal of this speaker series is to advance some wider perspectives on gentrification, recognizing that housing change is only one aspect of this broader social and economic process. The Gentrification and the City speaker series is funded from an endowment by the Real Estate Foundation of British Columbia and the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board.
