Taubman College PhD Student Named One of Three Winners in the World Energy Forum’s 2012 International Energy Essay Contest
Missy Stults, a PhD student in the Urban and Regional Planning Program here at Taubman College, recently won second place for her essay titled, “Sustainable Energy for All – Building a Sustainable, Resilient, Affordable, Accessible, and Equitable Energy Future.”
Missy will be traveling to Dubai the week of October 22nd to take part in the 2012 World Energy Forum and present her essay.
Missy is a Science Research Fellow and doctoral student working on issues related to urban resilience to climate change. As part of her work, Missy is co-developing the Adaptation Chapter for the U.S. National Climate Assessment, working on a typology of adaptation actions being implemented in developing countries, and helping enhance municipal preparedness to climate change in the Great Lakes region.

About World Energy Forum 2012: The World Energy Forum 2012 will be held on October 22-24, 2012 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai. This will be the first time that this High-Level International Energy Conference will be held outside the United Nations headquarters.
