Under Consideration Session IX: Imagining Futures

The Under Consideration discussion series explores questions of equity, access, and new approaches in design thinking. The series evolved from the inspiration: “the class you always wanted to take but was never offered.”

Session IX is built around the topic Imagining Futures and features Dr. Thandi Loewenson, tutor at the Royal College of Art, a visiting professor at the Aarhus School of Architecture (Denmark), and a "roving hybrid" tutor at the Graduate School of Architecture (South Africa); and Ari Melenciano, creative technologist at Google's Creative Lab, professor at NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Graduate Program, and founder of Afrotectopia, with an intimate cohort of faculty and students from our partner schools in the Equity in Architectural Education Consortium (EAEC).

The EAEC was founded in 2018 by the architecture colleges and programs at Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University, Florida International University, Hampton University, Howard University, Morgan State University, Tuskegee University, University of Oklahoma, and University of Michigan.

The session will be held synchronously over Zoom. The two invited speakers will present for 10 minutes each, followed by a 60 minute guided discussion and Q + A among all participants.

Please confirm your interest in attending and RSVP at your earliest convenience. Once we have received confirmation of your interest, we will follow up with a Zoom calendar invite and more information the day before the event.
