Residency

If you have questions about Michigan residency requirements see the University of Michigan Residency Guidelines.

If there is any question about whether you are a resident of the State of Michigan, it is best to file a residency application as early as possible.

Tuition Payments

The University of Michigan requires payment of tuition, fees, room, and board charges by the end of the first month of each term. The payment schedule for the academic year 2022–2023 is summarized as follows:

Fall: August 31, 2022
Winter: January 6, 2023

The University of Michigan provides an optional payment plan which allows parents/students to spread the payment of anticipated expenses for fall and winter terms over 10 payments. A payment plan is an alternative option to the normal payment schedule. Students and authorized parent/family may enroll in the U-M Payment Plan through Wolverine Access.

If you have questions call the Student Financial Services office at 734-764-7447 or toll-free at 877-840-4738.
