Shaping Future Cities: Chicago in 2020 and Beyond (POSTPONED)

In response to COVID-19, this event has been postponed to a later date when we can gather safely. An announcement will be sent out when the event is rescheduled.

Hosted at the Perkins + Will Chicago office in the Wrigley Building, this event will focus on Chicago’s planning and development trajectory at the start of a new decade. With high profile new developments like the Obama Presidential Center, as well as the ongoing conversations around neighborhood revitalization across the city, it promises to be another eventful decade. A panel conversation with U-M alumni and Chicago’s Planning & Development Commissioner will consider what’s next for the Windy City through the lenses of urban planning, architecture, real estate, and other related fields. A conversation moderated by Dean Jonathan Massey includes panelists:

Maurice Cox, Commissioner, City of Chicago Planning & Development Department
John Rutledge (B.A. ‘85), Founder, President, and CEO, Oxford Capital Group
John Ronan (B.S. ‘85), Founding Principal, John Ronan Architects
Kristen Conry (B.S. ‘99, M.Arch. ‘01), Principal and Co-Managing Director, Gensler Chicago
