Taubman Students with von Buelow attend Annual Symposium of International Association of Shells and Spatial Structures

The International Association for Shell and Spatial Structures and the Royal Netherlands Society for Engineers are co-organizing the IASS symposium August 17-20 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Professor Von Buelow with Anahita Khodadadi in conjunction with Andreas Falk presented a paper on “Form Exploration of Timber-based Folded Plate Domes”. Niloufar Emami presented her paper entitled “Structure and daylighting performance comparisons of Heinz Isler’s roof shell based on variations in parametrically derived multi opening topologies”, in addition to her joint paper with Professor Harry Giles, entitled “Structural assessment of a composite glass panel sandwich based on stress analysis simulation and structural testing”.

Doctoral students Omid Oliyan Torghabehi and Alireza Seyedahmadian presented collaborative research from a course with Taubman College Assistant Professor, Wes McGee, on “Developing a computational approach towards a performance based design and robotic fabrication of fibrous skin structures.”
